In I Made A Mess, the artist provides a multi-layered view of female desire. From a contemplative point of view, to which the slow rhythm of the video and the spoken words contribute, Sybill Häusermann creates a work full of contrasts. If the main motif is a female body, its inverted position leads to a loss of reference points that strips the representation of any erotic effect. The soundtrack is also confusing, as the disembodied, metallic-sounding voice gradually becomes reminiscent of meditative prayer chants. As for the impression of calm and serenity that emanates from the video, this is contradicted by both the title and the content of the text, which draws on the semantics of explosion, rupture and devastation. The work thus explicitly addresses the potentially dangerous and disturbing dimension of the female orgasm.

In I Made A Mess gewährt die Künstlerin einen vielschichtigen Blick auf die weibliche Lust. Unter einem kontemplativen Gesichtspunkt, zu dem der langsame Rhythmus des Videos und die gesprochenen Worte beitragen, schafft Sybill Häusermann ein Werk voller Kontraste. Wenn es sich bei dem Hauptmotiv um einen weiblichen Körper handelt, führt seine umgekehrte Position zu einem Verlust von Bezugspunkten, der die Darstellung von jeglicher erotischen Wirkung entbindet. Auch die Tonspur ist verwirrend, da die körperlose, metallisch klingende Stimme allmählich an meditative Gebetsgesänge erinnert. Was den Eindruck von Ruhe und Gelassenheit betrifft, der von dem Video ausgeht, so wird dieser sowohl durch den Titel als auch durch den Inhalt des Textes widerlegt, der auf die Semantik von Explosion, Bruch und Verwüstung zurückgreift. Die Arbeit spricht damit explizit die potentiell gefährliche und verstörende Dimension des weiblichen Orgasmus an.
